LUNCH & LEARN SEMINARS
You’re invited to PPCC’s Lunch & Learn Series on the fourth Tuesday of every month. This is a free opportunity to learn more about the featured topics as we hope to raise awareness and improve resiliency in ourselves and our community. All Lunch and Learn seminars will run from noon to 1pm and will be conducted at PPCC’s main office at 707 Gum Rock Court in Newport News unless otherwise noted.

Healthy Boundaries = Healthier You
This workshop will explore definitions of boundaries, how to implement them and maintain them, even when it’s uncomfortable. The workshop led by Rev. Chesla Nickelson, Resident in Marriage and Family Therapy, will also provide opportunities to practice saying “no” to harm and “yes” to help.
WORKSHOP ON SELF-CARE

Self-Care: A Practical Guide to Well-Being and Resilience
This 90-minute psychoeducational workshop is designed to help adults understand and practice effective self-care strategies to enhance their overall well-being and resilience.
Led by Rev. Dr. Raja Samuel Rajaratnam, graduate practicum student, this workshop is free, but registration is required. Maximum 12 participants.
PARENTING WORKSHOP
May 7 – OR – May 21
Thursday, 5:30 – 7:00 pm at our offices
A workshop for parents with children of all ages
Based on the work of John and Julie Gottman, this Connecting with Our Children workshop will introduce parents to “emotion coaching,” which Gottman refers to as the “heart of parenting.” Led by Rev. Becky Glass, LMFT and Executive Director, this workshop is free, but registration is required. Topics of discussion include:
- learning how to recognize, respond to, and validate what your child is feeling
- discovering ways to express understanding and empathy
- learning to set limits and problem solve with your children

CARE AND CONNECT MISSION TOURS
