About Us

We are committed to helping our neighbors heal and thrive.

Peninsula Pastoral Counseling Center (PPCC) is a nonprofit 501c3 organization that was founded in1973 by a group of clergy and laity on the Virginia Peninsula. For more than 50 years, PPCC has served individuals, couples, and families by providing professional counseling and consultation in a faith context. Thanks to the support of our generous donors, counseling services are available to clients who would not otherwise be able to afford the cost of psychotherapy.

PPCC is nationally accredited by Solihten Institute, an interfaith counseling network comprised of more than 40 centers in 200 offices that provide 600,000+ clinical hours every year. In partnership with Solihten Institute, PPCC is committed to nurturing care for the whole person – mind, body, spirit, and community.

All of our therapists are licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia as Marriage & Family Therapists, Professional Counselors, Clinical Psychologists, and/or Clinical Social Workers. The interns and residents in our training program receive individual and group supervision from our licensed counselors who are approved supervisors with the Virginia Board of Counseling. PPCC employs a psychiatric consultant and cooperates with psychiatric and other health professionals in the area.
