We guide people towards wholeness and health.

The Peninsula Pastoral Counseling Center is a nonprofit organization that offers professional counseling and consultation in a faith context. We are dedicated to treating the whole person – mind, body, spirit, and community. Our Client Assistance Fund makes it possible for us to provide counseling to all those in need including the uninsured or underinsured.

Pastoral Counseling is a discipline that integrates faith and the behavioral sciences. We respect the beliefs of our clients and do not impose our own beliefs on those we serve. Our professional staff includes clergy and lay people affiliated with various faith groups. PPCC employs a psychiatric consultant and cooperates with other health professionals in the area.

For 50 years, we have provided high-quality
mental health services to the Virginia Peninsula!

Help us continue providing care to those who can not afford counseling and
developing innovative ways to address our nation’s mental health crisis.

What people are saying about PPCC

I am so firmly on the atheist spectrum that I fully reject the concept of a “higher power” period, whatsoever. I have never felt pressured or pushed towards religion or a religious mindset by my therapist and they give me exclusively secular guidance which I appreciate. Try not to be too spooked by the “pastoral” deal; these good folks have the same education and credentials as secular practitioners.

I’m now over a year in therapy and it has changed my life. I went through 5 other therapists trying to find the right one, and until PPCC, I couldn’t find a therapist I could really connect and make progress with. My counselor has helped me tremendously, and I understand myself more now than I ever have in my life. The front office staff are ALWAYS so lovely and helpful. 💜 I highly recommend this place to anybody who needs counseling and hasn’t been able to find the right place. THIS IS IT!

Without a doubt the best counselor I could ever hope for. Most of the time you have to shop around, but my counselor and I clicked from day one, and he has helped me immensely. I would give him 6 stars if I could!
